Keszthely and Balaton

Keszthely, situated in the West-Balaton region, is the "Capital of Balaton", with its colorful cultural life, historic attractions is a beloved target at the Balaton-shore. Its main fascinations are the Festetics Castle, the castlepark and the beach, but numerous additional attractions, museums and a theater can be found in Keszthely. During summer-season a lot of entertaining programs, festivals and exhibitions are organized for the visitors of Keszthely. On the pedestrian, situated in the town-centre, surrounded by tarnished buildings, intimate restaurants and cafe's are waiting for the guests.

The town has also for nature lovers curiosities in store: the bicycle-way established around Balaton allows a great opportunity for bikers to discover the neighborhood, while hikers can saunter throughout the whole Keszthely-hills with the help of tourist routes.

Sport fans can try horse riding, tennis and nordic walking, furthermore, hot air balloon travelling is also possible nearby.

Lake Balaton is suitable for bathing (lovers of sunbathing can choose from three beaches in Keszthely), boating, water-sports, sailing, water-skiing, at down and at sunrise also for angling.

At summer we can take part in ship trips regularly departing from the harbor at the end of the pier, we can boat till Badacsony or even Szigliget.
